The School Garden

This garden is a five year project, now partly completed. It is a garden planned to give much interest to both children and visitors – there are many different areas and a diverse selection of plants.

The areas include a bog garden, an aromatic path walk, a seat beneath a young Davidia involucrata planted in memory of a late School Governor – Cathy Reekie, and a large raised ‘wheel’ bed, where each section is planted by a different class. A living willow structure dividing the garden from the playing field has been created by the children. Mosaics on the wall were a joint venture by the parents and children. Do also enjoy the selection of sunflowers grown by the children as a competition. Members of the gardening club will be on hand to answer your questions or show you around. The children will be competing for a challenge cup awarded by Newick Village Society. Refreshments and ice creams will be available here.
