One of the largest gardens in Newick – a modern water feature stands in the front garden of today. At the back of the house, which was the original front, is a large terrace leading down to spectacular beds of ‘prairie’ style planting. Walk through here to the Rose Garden and the Winter Garden of conifers, heathers and azaleas. Further on is a woodland walk around a 3–sided old (possibly iron age) moat – we do not advise children to be taken to this area. Do note the 80ft dry stone wall surrounding the amphitheatre. Other attractions within this garden will be Marchants Nursery selling plants including many grasses grown in the garden, a range of side show stalls for all the family, pony rides and refreshments of fizz and strawberries.
